Kyōroii - Symbiotic Armor

The Kyōroii are symbiotic armor parts forged by Chīgishō and given to his Erabare. They give powerful and various skills to their owner but cannot be removed easily. The simplest way to get ride of a symbiote is to kill its host. Over time the Kyōroii take control of their host until having complete control over them.

Appearance

They are pieces of armor and exist in six different shapes :

• The Helmet
• The Chestplate
• The right and left Spaulders
• The right and left Greaves

The metallic parts of those pieces of armor are either forged in Orichalcum or Asphodium, respectively giving it a silver-gold or obsidian-red color. Its decoration depends on the power it gives, a piece yielding fire power will have fire motifs and patterns.

Symbiosis

Once worn, the Gensōfu inside the Kyōroii take a moment to enter symbiosis with their host and give them their power. When effective the symbiosis is clearly visible on the host's body. The equipped body part takes the same color and patterns as the worn armor and become as tough. The power yielded vary greatly and its efficacity strongly depends on the host's creativity and intellect. When the symbiosis reach a certain point the symbiote begins to try to take control of its host. Depending on the host the control can go from null to total. Except for the case of total control, dialogue is possible between the symbiote and its host, and a relationship can be maintained. Hosts with very strong personalities can change symbiotes on the go but they suffer from this process, being temporarily weakened or even sick.
