Corsair Coast
The Corsair Coast refers to a large swath of Mayudar's coastline with the Eastern Ocean, mostly centered on the hundred or so miles north and south of Varilean Bay and with the city-state of Umbar at its center.
History
The Corsair Coast earned its name over the centuries alongside the increasing of Umbar's wealth. As more and more ships brought more and more valuable cargo, piracy became an incredibly lucrative career path for locals living nearby who were barred from the city's gates. In response, Umbar began to finance privateers of its own to ensure the safety of its merchant ships. These privateers often began practicing piracy of their own, and soon enough the entire area gained the "Corsair" reputation.
