Art in the Old Tongue, Arsai for Arts

The magical system, logic, or set of rules that allows a mortal to magically influence and interact with the world around them, usually using Tarnished Odraka, or Od as the fuel source.

"What abilities or traits does this Arsa grant?

How do they use their Od?

To what extent they can influence their surroundings?

How they acquire Od?

How much Od can they hold?"

Each Arsa is unique in most of these ways, however, all Arsai are built off the same basic principles, the Roots.

The Rules and Laws of the Arsa, were created by the will of the Dreamer, the god of that Dream and that world.

Most Dreamer's automatically create a spiritual connection between themselves and mortals born on their planet. This isn't always the case, but a significant connection to the Dreamer or the planet is required to use that Dream's Arsa.

Notable exceptions are the Vyapak Arsai, or Pervasive Arts. These Arsai are available for use by any mortal with the knowledge, Od, and intent.

Soul-Rending is one of the few Arts that can allow a mortal access to non-native or other arts. The process through which this is done, requires excising and severing a portion of your victim's soul, specifically, the part that contains the connections and bonds to their Dreamer and Arsa.
