Nagit

Small, rodent-like humanoids that have a passion for theft and general mayhem, Nagitia typically do not pose much threat to the people of Kaldra, other than a mild nuisance. However, when working together in clans, these aggravating 4' bi-pedal rats become a force that can easily do much harm to a village.   With decent intelligence (for overgrown rats), Nagitia are cunning enough to use basic battle strategy and are commonly seen with looted weapons and armor from their victims. Some clans of Nagitia are viscious while others typically just want to be left alone. All of them, however, love shiny things and even the most docile of them will attack if they think they can take something you have.   Travelers are warned to be wary as Nagitia are found all over Kaldra - even in the desert areas and remote islands - and the last thing a traveling merchant needs is to stumble upon a nest of opportunistic rat-people who love gold...

Ecology and Habitats

Nagitia are opportunistic scavengers who prey on unsuspecting Kaldrans all over Kaldra. Depending on the habitat, they may have thicker hides, darker/lighter tones, and different gear.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Omnivores who will feast on animals, human, Lorkin, grass, flowers, shrubbery, or anything else they can fit into their snouts. These creatures are scavengers that have been known to steal prey from other creatures, even larger ones. They also attack farms and ranches often and are a real problem for the farmers, especially those who live near a nest...

Additional Information

Social Structure

Many have speculated on the clan-based structure of the Nagitia, but no one fully understands it. They each have their own independence and yet all follow their leader almost religiously. As best scholars can guess is the strongest and/or the smartest are the leaders of said clan.   There also appears to be some sort of religious calling, but no one has observed them close enough to determine its nature.

Facial characteristics

  • Small, inset eyes
  • Tuffs of fur around their cheeks
  • Long, usually bent whiskers

Average Intelligence

These creatures take the weapons and gear from their victims and use them to make general chaos on others. They are known to use tools, however primitive, but don't build their own. Rather all of their gear, tools, and weapons are gained from their conquests and scholars believe although they are intelligent enough to use these things, they lack the knowledge to make them.   However, most (especially more experienced clans) are somewhat capable in tactics and battle strategy - simple strategy mostly, but still very dangerous to those not vigilant.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Of all of the senses, a Nagit's sense of touch is the best. This may not seem like an advantage at first, but coupled with the ability to see in low light makes these creatures masters of the darkness
