Dense shaggy dry moss that turns golden when it is mature.

Growth Rate & Stages

Taking 15 years to mature, Midas Moss looks just like any of the other thousands of types of moss across Kaldra. However, this changes once mature.
Once it approaches the 15 year mark, the moss gradually changes color into a shimmering golden color and starts secreting a slimy substance that covers it.

Ecology and Habitats

It is said this plant grows all over Kaldra, but since its easily mistaken for other mosses in its adolescence, it is hard to find a patch that hasn't already matured.
That being said, Herbalists set up shop in areas where they can get to the Midas Moss easily, so it is widely available.

Domestication

As this plant only grows in the wild, wise herbalists will cultivate patches of them in nearby forests. These patches are usually well protected due to their value.

Midas Moss secretes a slimy substance once mature. This substance is a natural remedy for most ailments and has the reputation to revitalize and, along with various other ingredients, can even resuscitate people who are in shock or unconscious.
