Moldavite Power Pylons

"The Vertii District of Stalkeep was not the richest place in the city, but they are also not the worst off. People here live a comfortable life; the streets are clean and the Power Pylon gives a nice glow at night, illuminating the market plaza with soft blue light."   -Excerpt from The Heartland's Pulse: A Glimpse into Stalkeep Life

Utility

The Power Pylons are used to provide power to the cities and settlements of the Selvestine Empire. The environmental impacts of coal use to produce steam power were already being felt by the citizens of the Empire and the transition to Magic Energy was a welcomed change.

Manufacturing

A large Moldavite crystal needs to be grown first since the size of crystal required is not found naturally. Once the crystal is grown, the necessary implements are attached and tested before the finished Pylon is sent out.
Inventor(s)
Horas Gert, Heartlandian Infrastructure Engineer   Michael Miklonsko, Engineering Arcanologist
Access & Availability
The intricacy of the Power Pylons are kept secret from other nations outside of The Selvestine Empire. Inside the Empire, though, Power Pylons are an important part of every settlement.
Complexity
At the beginning, Miklonsko's design worked well. The only problem was that Industrial Chaotics were constantly needed to keep the large Moldavite crystals charged with magic energy. That was until the development of The Moldavite Compression Apparatus. With some tweaks to the Apparatus's design, Miklansko and Gert were able to use it to pull magic energy into the crystals.
Discovery
Michael Miklonsko proposed that the magic energy from Moldavite crystals could be used as a power supply, and had proved it through the development of a device that could turn magic energy into electricity. He did not have a means of producing power on a large scale, though; for that he sought out Stalkeep's Energy Engineer. Horas Gert oversaw every steam plant in Stalkeep and was intrigued by the idea of using Moldavite crystals as a power source. Gert improved upon Miklonsko's converter design so it could produce energy on the necessary scale.
