Oasi Shelf

Nestled between the Balar's sweeping void and the eastern shores of Kal'Araan is a paradise. A source life springs up in Oasi, with the crown of Valencia sitting atop it.

Oasi is a region in southern Kal'Araan. It is independent, not wholly owned by any one government.

Geography

A small region in southern Kal'Araan, the Oasi Shelf is an enclosed range of mountains bordered by the eastern shore of Kal'Araan, and the Balar. Standing out from the surrounding deserts, Oasi's weather systems and biomes are uniquely protected by the massive gorge-like mountain ranges along it's north and south edges. These mountains allow moisture from the Valencian River to remain within the valley, creating opportunity for life to flourish.
From it's western edge, under the city of Valencia, the Valencian River flows east to the ocean, cascading over cliffsides that fall from the high elevation of Valencia down to sea level. At the eastern edge of Oasi the Valencian River opens up into a small bay.
Before The Descent, Oasi was a simple dry mountain valley, with no running source of water. Following the cataclysms that took place, however, the Valencian River sprung up on its western edge, making it into the river gorge it is today.

Fauna & Flora

The plants and animals that are native to Oasi are nearly wholly unique from the rest of Kal'Araan, being isolated via the Balar. While some invasive species have taken root, still a great many unique specimen can be found between the mountain ranges of Oasi.
As for settlements, the vast majority of the residents in Oasi live in Valencia, a free city sitting at the western mouth of the mountain pass. There is the town of Fyn that sits at the eastern outlet of the Valencian River, allowing Oasi to have port access. Oasi is much more diverse than it's neighboring Teredea, and much more full of life than the Balar. Roughly 50% of Oasi residents are human, while the rest are a plethora of races.

Natural Resources

Izarium is the largest resource to be produced in Oasi, as it is the only location where which it can be easily made. However additional natural resources exist throughout the river valley, such as ores within the mountain ranges, and unique herbs and plants only growable in the swamps surrounding Fyn.
