Kalamoon

The Kingdom of Kalamoon is one of the three major kingdoms of Primor. Kalamoon itself has been suject to much study and debate amongst scholars. Moreso than its neighbors Hyperion and Andular. Whereas, both Hyperion and Andular have ruins of an ancient civilization long lost, Kalamoon does not. But, it is not without wonders of its own, there are henges and caverns within the moorlands that makes one question the significance of the lands of Kalamoon.

Territories

The lands of Kalamoon are interesting. They are not dotted with ruins as Amular and Hyperion both are, at least not in the same sense. Kalamoon is dotted with fanes and many caverns that hold treasures and histories of the Ancient Kingdom.   The Blackwood, Greywood, and Greenwood forests are the three major forests of Kalamoon. The forests are home to great fanes that were once used for religious purposes of the Ancient Kingdom. Greenwood lies quite central to the kingdom, bordered by the Greenfields to the south, Blackmoor to the east, Blackwood to the northeast, Greywood to the northwest, and Greymoor to the west.   Blackmoor and Greymoor are the two moor lands that are home to various caverns of archaeological discoveries and fanes of the Ancient Kingdom. Blackmoor lying on the east and between the Greenfields, Greenwood, Blackwood and Amular. Greymoor lies on the west between the Greenfields, Greenwood, Greywood and Hyperion.   The Greenfields is the vast southern plains that is home to many farms. This land lies between the moors and Greenwood, and the City of Kalamoon and the Southern Sea.The plateau that the city of Kalamoon is built upon is the highest point and southernmost point of both Kalamoon and the Greenfields.   The city of Kalamoon is the main population center that is on the southern coast at Crescent Moon Bay.

Military

Kalamoon's milatary is not for lacking. Having a strong naval presence since it has only one main port and two smaller ones (unlike Hyperion's many ports and drydock towns), shows that the southern seafaring trade route is safe. Pirating is a major issue for the three kingdoms of Primor, as the most direct route from Amular to Hyperion is by the Northern Sea, which is highly unsafe due to the jagged stone outcroppings that lie in the Norther Sea in the area of the Lyfe Mountains.   Kalamoon have a few outposts at the border of the Lyfe Mountains, keeping the warring monstrous hordes at bay. Whereas, AMular and Hyperion have to contend with orcs and goblins, Kalamoon gets the unfortunate luxury of having to fend off minotaurs as the southern point of the Lyfe Mountains has a vast minotaur settlement in Kalamoon's direction.

Technological Level

Blackpowder and cannons are a thing. The Crescent Cabal have monopolized the manufacture of it, although some alchemists have slintered away to open their own shops and sell black powder on the open market.   Magic may not be of the highest demand, but many practitioners have found Kalamoon to be their home. This is because they tend to go on many archaeologocal excursions to the fanes and caverns that dot Kalamoon.

Foreign Relations

Kalamoon has been vital to peace in Primor. Many peace treaties between Amular and Hyperion have been made in Kalamoon due to its central location and neutral position. Of course, because of the Crescent Cabal's machinations, Kalamoon allows Cabal members from both kingdoms to partake in the archeologocal excursions in the many fanes and caverns of Kalamoon.

Agriculture & Industry

Kalamoon is a heavily agricultural kingdom. animal husbandry and produce farming are its largest trades. herds of livestock have been known to harass the Crescent Cabal's excursions in the Greymoor and Blackmoor regions.   The town of Furness, is known for smelting inported ores and metals, as well as minting Kalamoon's currency.

Trade & Transport

Sitting to the south of the kingdoms of Andular and Hyperion, trade through Kalamoon became vital, due to the Lyfe Mountains being the physical border between the two nations with no passage through.   The Kalamoon Way is an old cobblestone road that leads from Hyperion to the northwest of Kalamoon, southeast to the capitol city of Kalamoon, meeting at Kalamoon's Market District's center, to the northeast to follow through to Andular.   Kalamoon is also home to multiple ports as well. The capitol city of Kalamoon has a large wharf and bay where trade ships can be found docked. Many of the smaller port towns cannot handle the massive galleons that are docked at Kalamoon. Schooners and even drakkars can be found docked at Furness at Haling Cove and Kilead at Blackwater Bay, but the other ports tend to be more or less fishing towns, such as Horndean and Pendle that every now and then a trade drakkar would dock at. Because of the construction of the vessel, drakkars tend to go further inland to Gramsby, using the Blackwater River.

Infrastructure

Having known peace for nearly a thousand years, Kalamoon has been able to maintain its well-groomed dirt roads and pathways. Nearly every intersection has at least an inn for travelers to sit and rest, as travel through Kalamoon is a priority to those who wish to trade between Andular and Hyperion. The two main roads that lead southwest and southeast from both Andular and Hyperion respectively, are the only cobblestone roads that leads to any trace of there being a connection to the ancient kingdom that existed prior to the forming of the three kingdoms of Primor.

Major Exports
Other than the relics and artifacts of the Ancient Kingdom, Kalamoon is known for exporting black powder, livestock, and lumber.
Major Imports
Kalamoon itself is barren from mining products. So, it has to rely on ore coming in from Andular and Hyperion. Most of the ore trade goes to Furness, which is Hyperion's largest industrial town, with three mills that process bronze, iron, nickel, and tin. Copper, gold, and silver are also brought here as well as Kalamoon's minter in Furness.
