City of Kalamoon

Demographics

Kalamoon is mainly populated by humans. The other races that have recently arrived over the past couple hundred years have mainly stuck to the Arcane District. These are mainly the elves, half-elves, and gnomes. There are halflings amongst the population, but they tend to come and go as traders and wandering merchants, if not a few taverns are owned by the jovial small folk. Half-orcs tend to come in from time to time as adventurers who are looking for some quick gold as bodyguards for some of the Crescent Cabal's excursions to the henges that lie throughout Kalamoon, as well as the caverns that lie hidden in Greymoor and Blackmoor.

Government

Kalamoon is an absolute monarchy that is headed by a human royal family. Over the past near thousand years of its existence, the Dumitru family have ruled over the kingdom. Many have speculated as to how this had come to be when its neighbors have had several royal families rise and fall from power.   Its current head is King Sorin Daniel Iuliu Adrian Dumitru. King Sorin is the 21st of the royal lineage of Dumitru. During his regin he has had to sit in council and mediate between Andular and Hyperion as tensions have risen between the two kingdoms.   Running the actual city of Kalamoon, is the chaimberlain Laurențiu Petrescu. Laurențiu cares for the city of Kalamoon. Kalamoon has fluorished under Laurențiu's stewardship; most of his day is spent looking over requests from the Crescent Cabal, the college of magical studies who have taken a keen interest in the henges in the kingdom as of late.

Defences

Kalamoon has a wall surrounding the entire city. On top of that, there is a wall around each full district. The Wharf Subdisctrict is partially walled, as the Brewery Subdisctrict tends to connect to the Wharf Subdistrict so there is no wall in that section of the Wharf Subdistrict. Ballistae and cannons are added to the towers at each intersection of wall.

Infrastructure

Kalamoon is heavily fortified in the case that it ever has needed to defend itself from an attack. Various towers are armed with ballistae and cannons for defense.   A large wharf, due to its position on the southern coast, has made Kalamoon vital to trade, as well as its overland position with roads dating back to the era of the long forgotten ancient kingdom that ruled over all of Primor nearly a thousand years ago.   The knowledge of black powder is a secret that is highly regarded by the Crescent Cabal, the purveyors of Arcane and Planar knowledge, and instructors of the arcane for all of the three kingdoms of Primor.

Districts

The main and largest district of Kalamoon is of course the Merchant's District. This district reflects the fact that the city is central to all trade in Primor. Various merchats of all types can be found here from bakeries, and sundries; to all types of smithies, apothecaries, and alchemists. The majority of taverns and inns can be found here as well, as it has a Brewery Subdistrict, where breweries, distilleries, and vintners can be found. Another subdistrict of the Merchant's district, which some consider a district unti itself, is the Wharf Subdistrict. The Wharf Subdistrict is considered part of the Merchant's District, as it is taxed and governed through the Merchant's District (no one really complains as it makes taxes cheaper).   There are two Gate Districts. The cobblestone highways from the Ancient Kingdom (the only cobblestone roads outside of the city of Kalamoon) lead from these gates to the kingdoms of Amular and Hyperion. Both of these districts also house the garrisons of the city watch.   Between the two gate districts, there is the Military District. Here is where the kingdom's main military headquarters are. Although there are multiple garrisons throughout the kingdom, the main headquarters of Kalamoon's military is here in this district.
