Hyperion (high-peer-ee-on)

Hyperion is the northern kingdom to the west of the Lyfe Mountains. Hyperion is believed to be the capitol of the ancient kingdom that once ruled the entirety of Primor. Hyperion is the most at war with the greenskin kin, orcs and goblins. Giants and dragons also plague these lands, and come from both mountain ranges that are local to Hyperion.

Structure

Hyperion is a monarchy that is ruled currently by King Herbert Adrian Borchard. The Borchard family is the 16th royal family to rule over Hyperion in the thousand years since the fall of the ancient kingdom. King Herbert's daughter, Princess Brigitte Mechtilde Borchard, is betrothed to marry Kalamoon's prince, Prince Doru Anghel Damian Liviu Dumitru. Her brother, Prince Hermann Henrik Borchard, is betrothed to Princess Zekiye Öykü Karga of Amular.

Culture

The people of Hyperion tend to have a highly imperial culture. Temples to the gods can be found throughout the major settelments as well as every god having a temple in the city of Hyperion. Half-orcs who worship Gruumsh can even find a shrine hidden away beneath the city. It is known by the authorities of its existence, but for sake of harmony it remains hidden from public view.   The Crescent Cabal are known to have their largest library in Hyperion, as they originate from the this kingdom. It is here that their research in the ancient kingdom and their ruins are headquartered.

Demography and Population

Hyperion is a human kingdom that has a heavy dwarven presence.

Foreign Relations

Hyperion has been at odds with the kingdom of Amular since the three kingdoms had formed. No one remembers why the two kingdoms have such a staggered relationship over the past thousand years, but it stems from ther downfall of the ancient kingdom. Both Amular's and Hyperion's royal families claim to the throne of the ancient kingdom that once ruled Primor. Because of ther position being in the middle of the two kingdoms, Kalamoon has been central to peace between the two kingdoms. Every time rulership of one of the kingdoms changes, a new peace treaty at Kalamoon needs to be signed.

Dotted with farmlands the Great Fields run in a crescent from the North Sea between the Lyfe Mountains and the Lebet Mountains to the Primordial Sea to the west. Rivers flow from the two mountain ranges and a few lakes are found in this region. Bracefail Basin and Kamesvain Waters are the two larges bodies of water in Hyperion. The ruins of Temple of Soot, Village of Nightmares, The Deserted Fields, The Broken Shore, The Waste Forest, Outpost of Collapse, Farms of Rubble, and The Whispering Town are found throughout the Great Fields   The Wandering Spruce Woods lie on the north border of Kalamoon. The wood elves have made this forest their home, giving them a presence in Hyperion.
