Ophelya, the Warsong Nymph
"Seems like the Nymph is calling."Long ago, Ophelya brought mortals to war with her speech and fulfilled her promises by sowing fields with flesh and blood."These days, I'm not sure she ever stops."
Ophelya's Doctrine
There is no reason to care for something you wouldn't take up arms for. When words fail, as they so often do, make your blade pay the debt. By bleeding and killing, you prove you're alive—that your cause is worth bone and sinew. Suffer no shallow lies cast by the weak and afraid, who would speak without meaning. Destroy those whose ideals you disagree with, or don't bother having them at all.The Nymph's Call
Ophelya has always taken great joy in mortal wars. Before and after The Exodus, she spent her time disguised as anything from generals to lieutenants to soldiers to drummer boys in order to participate. She was a frenzied killer on the battlefield, but her real art was inspiring mortals to take up arms and settle their differences with brutal exchange. This is the origin of the term "the Nymph's call," used to refer to tense political relationships where war seems inevitable.Unexpected Absence
Legends of Ophelya's involvement in mortal wars often culminate in her revealing her true form at points when she could cause the most havoc for both sides, whether that be during a bloody stalemate or just after peace is made. These reports were shockingly common early in the Dawn-Age, and then they quickly became almost unheard of. It's unknown if she's gone from the material plane for the time being or if she's simply become more subtle in her manipulation. Whatever the reason for her silence, she is still a force in mortal affairs. It's not unheard of for soldiers to call for help in the middle of a battle and find themselves with a blessing and the sound of drums beating in their ears for the rest of their lives.
