Misoura, the Lady in Red (miz-ZOO-rah)

Lady Misoura is the mother of esoteric ancient practices which fascinate and horrify, and although some are put off by her alien being, her followers find comfort in her macabre ways.

Misoura's Doctrine

Lady Misoura brings into her fold those whose strength lies in will, in strength, and understanding. She teaches independence in spirit, and while many of her clerics and priests treat her with a parental reverence, they are taught to understand that their lives are their own, as are their mistakes and their successes. Any power Misoura grants is dependant on the will to use it, and her clerics know that sometimes, when hard choices must be made, they are the ones with the fortitude to make them. However, her magic should be used only as a necessity, not for personal frivolous gain. She rarely withdraws her blessings, but when she finds one of her own to be power-hungry or especially cruel, her wrath is palpable. Beyond the blood magic she grants, she is a patroness of magic and discovery, of mortal ingenuity, and she happily accepts scholars, especially spellcrafters, into her embrace. Some such followers choose to keep quiet their allegience as The Lady in Red has an understandably unsettling reputation.

The Blood-Mother

When the children of Kairos were being slaughtered by such leviathans as Geldiran or the fury sisters, Misoura emerged from her solitude to teach a small group of mortals how to use something they had that the celestials who oppressed them didn't: their flesh and blood. When she rose to power in the Exodus, she likely could have claimed dominion over her students, but she didn't. Her teachings have grown and shifted over the years beyond the blood arcana she taught into various practices, but all of them have in common a separation from divinity. They draw, in some form, on the Weave, but scholars theorize that because of its connection to the mortal flesh, it might survive even if the Weave fell apart. Notable also is that while Misoura has been known to punish clerics who misuse her gifts, she does not punish cruel use of hemocraft.
