Geldiran, the Storm-Eater (GELL-dih-ran)

Geldiran is the great devourer of the seas, the serpent that brings storms, the wrath of the skies, striking terror into even the gods in their Pillars.

Geldiran's Doctrine

Those mortals who follow Geldiran do so out of fear, and it is happy to reward those that treat it with the awe it deserves. Many of those who follow it believe that their calling is to complete a ritual which will bring The Storm-Eater into the prime material, but this is an almost certainly impossible task. It's just as likely that the devourer doesn't actually want this, given that would have no chance to act on the material before the purported end of everything. However, Geldiran's most powerful clerics have a tendancy to go mad just before they disappear, and nobody is entirely sure why.

The Great Leviathan

The Storm-Eater was a god before The Exodus. The massive serpent had the power to summon torrents with its lightning breath and it could devour swathes of people in its jaw at once. When it hunted in Kairos, it amassed a following of mortals who traded their service and piety for their lives. After it ascended, it began to prowl the Astral Sea. Now, the great serpent swims in the stars between planes, waiting to devour gods and adventurers alike who cross its path. While it has certainly eaten gods since The Exodus, the pantheon has been stable for quite some time. This probably means it's reached a stalemate with the other gods. If it managed to devour one of them, others would retaliate. Likewise, if one of the gods attacks it, it can easily flee into The Pillar of Lies. No one is quite sure what the Storm-Eater gets out of this constant consumption, given that it doesn't seem the gods need sustenence.
