Ianeth
Ianeth of Rorig in Tyaldi was a villager in a small hamlet during a time of many raids by warriors of Genlith into Tyaldi border areas.
She is best known for her deeds during one particular raid when she was alone in the forest searching for her brother's hunting dog, Boldspar, that had run off in the night. She found the dog but also then discovered a small group of raiders stealthily advancing on her village. Without hesitation she blew a horn to alert her village and felled a pair of the raiders with her hunting bow before they had a chance to respond. When they gave chase she led them deliberately into broken land that she knew much better than they and managed to slay one more with her bow before she was seized by the leader of the raiders. Boldspar the hound took out the throat of the warrior and Ianeth seized up the man's axe and held his companions at bay, standing in defiance despite taking a wound herself until the men of her village came to her aid and slew the raiders.
Ianeth survived the battle and was accorded high honour by the current Lord of Jayne Keep. The grave of Boldspar who did not survive the encounter, is beneath a monument in the keep at Rorig
She died a natural death in her early fifties and was known for her humour and sharp wit until the end of her life, particularly when dealing with travellers who had heard tales of her deed and visited her village in the hope of seeing "fair Ianeth"
