Urthikhi Grass (Ur-ˈThee-Khee)

From the Travel Journal of Barran Forefire

Urthikhi grass is a stunning sight in the Maba'ji Wastes, popping up in tufts and clumps across the arid landscape. The unusual purple hue from the seed tops shows brightly against the tans and browns of the desert sands.   The Urthiki are rare, as they are not fully adapted to the arid Wastes, and are more populous further south, where water is more plentifully available. The purple coloration helps reflect some of the light, allowing it to retain moisture   In a survival technique for the species, the grasses produce seeds 8 months out of the year, in order to ensure that some seeds actually survive the local wildlife. Creatures like the small Jhopo live on seed caches from these plants. Desert Lizardfolk that live in the wastes also enjoy snacking on the roasted seeds.
