Bellemora, Dwarven Press (Bel-Leh-ˈMore-Ah)

Dear Barran,   Good to hear from you after all this time! Are you still up in your tower scribing away for King and Dhurros? A long way from the rough camps we used to make. Ah, we're getting old, we are. Hopefully, I'll get to see your ugly mug sometime in the near future. You humans have such short lives, after all. But enough of this sentimental fyb. You wanted to know about Bellemora.   Now, first off, you know there's not much I can say. It's all very hush-hush. Wouldn't want folks copying it, would we? But I trust you, so, I'll tell you some of what I know. What we've done is engraved the words into a thin plate of copper, backwards, you see, so it sticks out on the other side and reads properly. Then we get some lads to ink it all over. There's where I can't let you in, our inks and paper are special for this process. But once we ink up a page's worth, we place the paper carefully and bring down the press. Then we can just repeat it over and over.   Of course, I've got to tell you about Bylri, she was our first baby. Same principle, but used a hand-cranked method, like a wine or cider press. Never were my drinks, but it's a good idea. And the boys would ink the plate by hand. So that's how we used to do things. Now, the guys have got a whole steam-powered contraption set up, uses steam from the vents, and a whole ream of paper, with a curved plate of letters that goes round in a circle. There's a tray of ink that the plate goes through, and then it presses against the paper, makes whole sheets of writing. Best part is they're all the same, and faster than you scribes could go. Imagine your chronicle sent out to every citizen in Troyso! Too bad the Conclave's got it locked down as double top-secret.   Anyway, speaking of which, I've said too much, but, what the hey? It was good to hear from you, you old plepo. Tiswynn and the kids send their love, and convey my regards to Rostri and your son, as well.   Your shieldbrother,

I love how this is written as a letter! Great approach. Also, I am DIGGING your world aesthetic.
