Shuk'las Athame

He sold his soul
gave his will
yet lost his life.
But here in Kyr'am, not even Death can hold him.
— the start of an old Kyr'amic folk lore

Shuk'la

It is said that in the days of old, Shuk'la, the master crafter and co-founder of Kyr'am considered improving his crafts with magic.
He endeavored on a journey through both the heavens and the hells, but didn't fall satisfied. Then he found the entrance to the deep.
Over the yearhundreds, sightings have been reported, but it cannot be true, he never returned from the deep. There have been many an adventurer lost in the deep looking for Shuk'la. At first, we sent 200 of our best warriors. None returned. After several lost expeditions, we had 3 sole survivors return (out of a party of 50). With them, they brought back a single fine-crafted knife. Fumbling around, the men looking like they have been battling a bladestorm. Two of them died later that day. Their bodies turning pitch black several minutes before they were confirmed dead. That’s when we stopped searching.   We don't know for sure, but weaponsmiths, scholars, and many other trades have studied the knife over the years and they are certain the blade is made of the famous Kyr'amic steel, invented by Shuk'la himself.
Judging the toughness of the blase it must have been cold rolled on something as cold as frozen air, and the aura hints of dark spells of both hatred and death rightly imbued into the metal. It's almost like it has been cursed between every single round through the cold rolling press. The edge is sharpened impressively sharp, it carves everything (even deep steel) like if it was cutting butter. The only creatures know capable of making such sharp edges are the rumored Urdunnir, a supposed civilisation only living in the deepest parts of Aru'as only known from the stories of dwarven traders.
Furthermore, the handle is carved out of what seems to be dragon bone, and looking at the bone rings and carve marks it looks like the bone was carved of a near infant dragon while the poor creature was still living. We have tried using spells searching for the history of the knife but every time the casters have eighter died or instantly turned insane.
Druids and dragon hunters claim the bone can only be from the skull of a chromatic dragon, but we have yet to confirm even their existence.
Our clerics have been complaining of something resembling High piched yepls and screams of pain faintly eminating from the knife, however this has only been reported from clerics who has guarded the knife alone in the dark. We beleive it is most likely just some kind of ilusory spell, but some of the clerics complaining say it sounds Reptilian-like and somehow usually quite clearly recalls the word «arglar» meaning «to butcher» in dwarven even tho not having any knowledge of speaking the language before.
Other than this, guards have been reporting the knife acting rather strangely. They say it moves on its own if left unnatended for long enough, that it’s rarely found where it is left. However it is most likely just the guards being sloppy and forgetting where they put it, given how frequently it tends to dissapear.
