Haru's apartment

When Haru moved in, the room wasn't exactly a joy to see, let alone to live in. As it is today, you wouldn't imagine how much it has improved, because it is a mess and there is barely enough space to move between the small bed, the small metallic wardrobe painted in black, the shelf of three levels in the corner and the shoes all over the floor.   It's all part of a delicated system:
Oh, well, it will be a mess no mather what I do, so whatever.
— Haru. Second month living here.
You won't find rests of food laying around, though. And the shelf is carefully organized: the writing tools in the bottom level, books in the middle, a collection of nostalgic objects on the top. The skateboard is usually leaning on that shelf.   The bathroom is extremely clean, too; even if it doesn't seem so, because it's too old.

Design

The small squared room has a small wooden window and an engraved door both of which face the the inner garden. Another, simpler door in the opposite wall leads to a small private bathroom.   The plastered adobe walls are now painted in light pink, and the window and doors are black, but only in the inside.

Entries

The only door of the room is the last in the old corridor of and old house, which has a beautiful garden at the other side. From the corridor the door looks really old, varnished a long time ago, before of the change of the deadbolt lock that only works with a very specific trick.   The window can be secured with two small barrel looks. It has never been painted in the outside, and it's quite newer than the door. A kid could be use it to get in or out, but they would have trouble to reach it.

History

Palma's family built this house a long time ago, when they were three generations of close relatives. Now their only descendant rents the rooms as apartments.   Haru found this one in a... very particular state. It took her more than a year to make it inhabitable, but it has worth the effort to have a place she can call home.

They are the same: the fist time I saw my apartment.   It was empty, and I thought it was some sort of waiting room ―and an ugly one, too―, so I opened that screechy door at the other wall, sure that the actual apartment was behind it. I was met with the oldest bathroom I’d ever seen. It was a thing from nightmares. But that didn’t change the epicness of the whole experience.   The experience of moving there, I mean, not being threatened by a bathroom.
— Haru, when questioned about her best and worst memories.
A glimpse of the future (mild spoiler)
There it was the empty bag of a flute, and he knew she owned one. But, a small diary with a false lock? Shiny hair accessories? That didn’t fit. There were two children's books too; why weren’t they with the others?   “That’s my parent’s shelf,” she explained, noticing that he was staring. “I couldn’t bring a lot when I left home, but I took a few childhood items that remind me that I live alone, but I’m not alone.”
