. • Each player starts with one inspiration at the beginning of each session

West Marches: "Kyneslund"
• Players choose what to do.
• Players schedule their own games.
• Players form their own groups, based on shared interests and availability.
• Each mission begins and ends in town; each session is self-contained**
**(some missions, intentionally or unintentionally, may extend to more than one session)
• Drop in, drop out: play as often as you want, with the same people, or different people
• Town is safe: no missions or political intrigue or danger within the town walls
• The map is intended to be added to and expanded by the player group
• Missions (jobs, bounties, and rumors) are posted by the DM on the Discord (link available on request)
• You don't need to pick a listed mission to schedule a session. you could say "i want to explore to the northeast"; just let the DM know ahead of time.
• DM's availability calendar is posted on the Discord
• High-lethality, no punches pulled. Kyneslund is best described as a "temperate Australia". This means...
• ...it's far away; the continent where your character came from ("Thrask") is separated from Kyneslund by a large ocean; you've left your home behind, likely for good.
• ...it's dangerous; the wildlife is unfamiliar and strange and probably wants to kill you. and even if it doesn't want to kill you, it probably can.
• ...it's big; continent-sized; there's a lot beyond the edges of the existing maps.
• ...it's uncharted; the map is intended to be added to and expanded by the player group; remnants of ancient civilizations, as well as current native inhabitants, are not well documented or understood.
...it's recently of interest; it's got a New World colonization / Gold Rush land-grab vibe; profiteers, opportunists, adventurers, do-gooders, occultists, refugees, industrialists, archaeologists, scholars, and folks just wanting a better life have all made their way to this continent in the past 50 years.
Character Creation
• Reiterating: high-lethality, no punches pulled. Build a character equipped to survive on the frontier. Stay alive, get xp, level up.
• All characters start at level 2
• Note race restrictions in the handout above.
• Almost everything in published sourcebooks is fair game; ask if there are any questions.
• Want a custom background or character feature? DM can work with you.
• "Culture" stats are selectable on DnD Beyond via custom race.
• Free bonus feat (excluding "Lucky").
• Build the character you want to play - you don't need to worry about party makeup.
• NPCs can be hired to fill missing roles, if needed.
The Discord has maps, looking-for-group channels, and a whole lot more - but participation is not necessary to play, if Discord ain't your thing. I can send you an invite on request.
