The Primordial time when the gods created, shattered, and evolved the world of JUNO.
The two largest sentient races are created and cultivated by Akkakuh.
The first Ngisikaa gains sentience by pooling memories of others.
The time between the decline of the gods and the rise of the mortal races.
Kuhifadi begin working together to fight powerful nocturnal creatures.
The Uchafumlaji begin formalize and ritualized huts of the Kuhifadi along with other diurnal creatures.
The Uchafumlaji begin connecting the tunnels of their underground villages to create extensive cities.
With the guidance of Obarikaa, the Kuhifadi Mages appear and begin to organize.
The Ngisikaa communal memory is developed, possibly direct from Kimmasi.
The Kuhifadi gain the upper hand for the first time over the Uchafumlaji in their constant wars.
The Kuhifadi create their first cities for permanent residents. These cities are built onto stilts in the major water ways.
First contact between Kuhifadi sailors and the Ngisikaa. There is disagreement over the forms of gods.
The time following first contact between the Kuhifadi and the Ngisikaa. Chronicling the birth and early generations of JUNO's civilizatons.
First contact between Kuhifadi sailors and the Ngisikaa. There is disagreement over the forms of gods.
Last recorded sighting of a god, Dalkka. The others had cloaked themselves from sentients previously.
Uchafumlaji tunneling breaks into a very small Ngisikaa settlement in the north of the large western continent. It is a harsh environment for Ngisikaa, and they are regarded as barely sentient tools by the Uchafumlaji.
Mages grow in power, acting as powers behind ruling Kuhifadi
Mages begin to infiltrate Uchafumlaji settlement to learn of their technological developments. Many are killed.
The worship of Unzulaja comes to Kuhifadi cities, often borne by mages. Similarly, there is a cult of Akkakuh hidden in several Uchafumlaji warrens.
Many Kuhifadi let their abilities fad in favor of using the services of mages.
Underground eruption, destroying a large Uchafumlaji city, Ngomenchini. Rumors begin to spread the eruption was cause by a Mage releasing all of their Kuh at once.
There is limited trade between the Kuhifadi and Uchafumlaji for technology vs. magic. Both sides gain from this.
A few Ngisikaa are found in all major Kuhifadi and Uchafumlaji cities as historians and architects. It is unknown what the Ngisikaa think of this arrangement, but they do it willingly in exchange for Kuhifadi and Uchafumlaji leaving their memory storage locations alone.
Mages are in active communication all through the Kuhifadi empire, and underground in the Uchafumlaji collective.
Unknown to the other sentients, a shift in ocean currents has brought a boom of nutrients to the northern Ngisikaa settlement. There are more of the non-sentient creatures than the sentients can control, and the herd has split, some of them migrating southward toward more inhabited areas. They need a new memory storage location.
Several Kuhifadi leaders are assassinated in questionable ways at the same time. All evidence points to Uchafumlaji agents.
The most free-thinking Kuhifadi cities, Mkubwa, Mwanga, and Unaowaka, close their doors to Uchafumlaji visitors. More isolationist cities begin making plans of war. Protests of Uchafumlaji innocence are ignored.
Mages begin actively governing some cities through coercion or magic in what is now thought of as the beginning of the Darksider Revolt. There is much more coordination in their society than either Kuhifadi or Uchafumlaji knew.
No one notices the quiet Ngisikaa exodus from the cities of the large western continent.
Rumors rise of a major Uchafumlaji city in revolt. Half the inhabitants side with a faction of Kuhifadi mages, and the other half wants the mages exiled.
An army of discontented Uchafumlaji tunnels into the center of Kuhifadi territory, erupting just as a Kuhifadi army, led by mages, marches to the nearest surface exit of the Uchafumlaji tunnel network. At nearly the same time, the mass of migrating Ngisikaa arrive from the norther memory storage location, led by a small clique of sentient Ngisikaa. The Ngisikaa have found a way to absorb much of the energy released by a rupture of the Kuh, rendering mages useless. They have also equipped themselves with finely tuned clockwork weapons, taken from memories of the Ngisikaa working for the Uchafumlaji. Both armies are overrun by the fragile creatures.
Kuhifadi in several major cities fight against the Order of Obarikaa—the mages guild. Two cities are burnt to the ground, refugees fleeing to surrounding cities.
Civilization collapses for a time, where records are extremely scarce. Even the tunnel network of the Uchafumlaji is compromised by agents of the Order of Obarikaa. Most memories stored by the Ngisikaa of this event are lost in the resulting battle. The mages orchestrated revolutions even on the sparsely inhabited eastern continent, and because there was no influx of non-sentient Ngisikaa in that place, they gain complete control. Communication is lost between the two continents for a long time. During the Collapse, most non-sentient Ngisikaa are driven back or killed when the Uchafumlaji see their chance to take out both light-living species. They underestimate the mages, who have been quietly building their strength in the shadows. Many Uchafumlaji are taken captive and forced to finally teach their technology to the Kuhifadi. This marks the official end of the time of the Darksider Revolt.
Leaving the dark ages of the Revolt for the quickening times of progress. Known colloquially as the Common Era.
A long time passes while civilization recovers. There is not even an accurate accounting of days, and a new calendar is chosen, based on the founding of the first Kuhifadi city to overlook the new southern Ngisikaa memory storage location. During this time many accords and treaties are made between the three species, including the Uchafumlaji’s official pledge to no longer hunt or eat either of the other sentient species. Most Uchafumlaji abide by this agreement up to the present.
In the early days of the new calendar, there are reports of a traveling utopia, which can pass over land or water, or even beneath the earth. In this city, Kuhifadi, Ngisikaa, and Uchafumlaji all live together, a central memory storage guarded by and acting as a conduit for Kuhifadi’s power, serving as a power core for augmented technology of the Uchafumlaji. There are several credible sightings of this city, known as Kusongangani. The city has never been successfully found.
Sailing vessels once again reach the eastern continent, only to find a wild and dead place, with vast swaths of burnt and blasted land. The only inhabitants are wanderers, completely wrapped up against the sun. Some are obviously Uchafumlaji from their size.
The memory storage location on the eastern continent is found destroyed. Only two sentient Ngisikaa are left, but they are so addled from holding memories they are unable to communicate. They die soon after contact is made, and the last memories of what happened die with them.
The last of the Uchafumlaji are officially freed as indentured servants to the Kuhifadi.
Although many of the advances of the old civilization had been lost, the tunneling powers of the Uchafumlaji and their scientific prowess, coupled with the memory of the Ngisikaa and the magic of the Kuhifadi, lead to many archaeological digs and finds of vast knowledge. Much knowledge of the old civilization is discovered, at least up to the Collapse. This includes many weapons used by the mages and the Uchafumlaji, as well as the magic absorption of the Ngisikaa. However, with the new treaties in place between the species, the technology is often (though not always) used for the benefit of all.
An expensive, but common, form of solar storage is finally perfected, replicating the Kuh in many respects. This makes the magic of the Kuhifadi transferable, which in turn nearly eliminates the mages, now that the painful and arduous process of becoming one is no longer necessary.
Artificial reefs are created for the non-sentient Ngisikaa, finally allowing the sentients to live nearly any place they desire on Juno.
Moving cities are designed that either chase the sun or chase the night, allowing them to act as refuges for Uchafumlaji above the surface, or places for Kuhifadi to continually store the magic in sunlight.
