Magnus Tommas

Magnus Tommas

I grew up in Solaceon Town not far from the Solaceon Ruins and the Hallowed Tower. My parents were ranchers and lived on the western side of a very small town. I enjoyed exploring the eastern side of town, and I got pretty good at slipping away to explore before all my ranching chores were done. Small towns are full of stories, and one that I heard many times was the tale of the Spiritomb. It was rumored that the Hallowed Tower housed more than 100 trapped spirits and that if the Hallowed Tower was disturbed those spirits would wreak havoc on our small town. Although I never got too close to the Hallowed Tower, I would sometimes sneak out there and notice that the area felt different. I wasn't sure if the stories were true, but there was definitely something about the Hallowed Tower that drew me back to watch it, and each time I got a little closer.   The Hallowed Tower and the Solaceon Ruins are on the eastern side of town which is full of trees and ledges. I like wandering through them; it was like learning my way around a maze. What I found most interesting was watching the people who would come to explore the Solaceon Ruins. The people who explore ruins were usually searching for the Unown. As I watched the people work their way through the maze of trees and ledges on the eastern side of town and then enter the ruins, I studied them and the tools they brought into the ruins. My parents owned a Polaroid camera and I would take it with me in case I caught a glimpse of the Unown that trainers who ventured into the Ruins were always looking for. The trainers who were cautious and prepared for traps brought supplies like a flashlight, water filter, and rope. The crumbling ruins were dangerous and those who were prepared always seemed to have more success than those who charged in recklessly. More than once I caught glimpses of the Unown around the ruins and I noticed that they were all a little different. I took pictures and notes in my journal and began to be able to predict which trainers were best prepared to tackle the ruins.   The day that I decided that I would gather the gear and explore the ruins myself was the day my life changed. I approached my parents with my plan to go explore the ruins and they let me know that they had a different plan. Although they didn't know just how often I had sneaked out to visit the ruins and the tower, they had noticed my preoccupation with the eastern side of town, and they wanted to prepare me for the adventure they were sure I would try one day. That very day, I was being sent to live with my Aunt and Uncle where my adventuring spirit could get the training I would need. My cousin James Tommas was just a little younger than me, and adventures are more fun with a friend. I think my parents thought that sending me to a place with a Professor to get me some training and explore someplace (hopefully a little less dangerous than the Ruins) would prepare me for my future.
