Jontor

Jontor is the Aralanian god of the sun, agriculture, and light. Born from the magic of Aralen and the fire of the elemental beast Anatu, Jontor is a symbol of vitality and sustenance. His light nourishes the earth and supports the life nurtured by Yedus , making him a god intimately connected to the growth of crops and the rhythms of agriculture.   In Aralanian myths, Jontor is often depicted as a radiant and charismatic figure. His journey across the sky reflects the daily and seasonal cycles that govern the natural world. The myth The Footsteps of Yedus highlights his romantic relationship with Yedus, which brings balance between the nurturing forces of life and the essential warmth of the sun. Jontor’s role as a traveler who never ceases his journey westward reflects his eternal vigilance over the natural world, providing both the light of day and the warmth necessary for life to flourish.   Jontor is revered by farmers and those who depend on agriculture, as well as by those who seek wisdom and enlightenment. Temples dedicated to Jontor feature large windows and are often positioned to catch the first light of dawn. The Harvest Festival is held in his honor, celebrating the bounty of crops and the cycle of growth that sustains the people. His symbol—a white lantern on a golden sunburst—adorns temples and is often carried as a talisman by those working the land. He is seen as a guardian of life, a bringer of warmth, and a steadying force against the darker aspects of nature.   He is the husband of Yedus, and the father of Ohena, Gadoln, and Loar.
