Lao

Lao is a small Alyrian town that resides in the Kuno Jungle of Pryce, residing between the Torrane Ocean and the Cauwin Lake. Despite its small population and general size, Lao is ruled by a reputable Lord/Lady that was appointed by the Great King of Pryce.

Government

Despite being one of the smallest towns on Pryce, Lao's government is well organized and rarely are matters extreme enough to bring to a higher court. Run by a Lord, Lao has a guard force and a tribunal that will gather when issues need to be discussed. The Lord runs Lao, but the tribunal comes up with ideas and sees those ideas take fruition. A Lao tribunal holds five members, a single spokesman for each category, which is security, agriculture, merchants and craftsmen, the common man, and scholars. Due to the abundance of resources that the land gives them and their open trade with Cimmerians, Lao is one of the few towns that do not tax their people.

Industry & Trade

It is well known throughout Pryce that though the jungle land brings its own problems, all territories within are self-sustaining due to the abundance of resources located within. This is true for Lao, but Lao is also the only settlement that has open trade with Cimmerians, allowing them an even greater bounty. Due to Lao's fragile relationship with the crown and their closeness to the Cimmerian boundary, Lao has opened up a trade route and agreement with the multiple Cimmerian towns, as well as Eperit.
Lao trades timber, medicine, agricultural products that can only be cultivated amongst jungle soil, and specific items like clothing, baskets, and other crafts that Lao, and Alryians primarily, are known to excel in. The Cimmerians trade with them food, weapons, herbs, and taint touched flora that has been coated with magic to disallow it from spreading.

Geography

Though part of Kuno Jungle, Lao exists on the boundaries that only see dangerous wildlife due to being so close to the Cauwin Lake. Not as humid, dangerous, and crowded as the deeper parts of Kuno Jungle, Lao still receives a moderate amount of rainfall that one would expect a tropical setting to receive.
