Legion of the Golden Sun
Founded originally as the Order of the Golden Sun in 705 by Cedric Albrecht (also known as Cedric The Courageous)
during The First Wars.
Cedric was known not only for his Courage but his compassion towards all creatures of the realm. Highly concerned about the darkness plaguing the land and the ferociousness he saw spreading throughout his human kin largely due to the fact that Rask had found the hearts of man highly susceptible to corruption and used this in his attempt to indirectly destroy Jirathas.
It was said that Cedric received the idea of the order in a vision directly from Üvah. He gathered twelve of his closest confidants. They eventually became known as: Braun the Brave

The order grew so quickly that within ten years the name had been changed to the Legion of The Golden Sun due to becoming not only the largest religious order on Nandaral but the largest army as well. They soon discovered they had a need for tenets to keep followers true to the original vision of the order.
Each creator of the order established their own tenet that they found necessary to the order. They became known as the Thirteen Pillars of the Legion.
In 2025 the Order protects the members of The Great Pact that fight their way into the fissure between Emberdale and Kamachaka and seal off the fissure that has been allowing evil magic to filter into the world. As a result of the success of this mission creatures of evil were weakened, cut off from their magics.
By 2400 the legion boasts over 100,000 knights throughout the realm
The world begins to heal and for nearly 600 years there is a sense of peace throughout the realm until suddenly and violently the world is plunged into war again in 2608 when the spells from The Great Pact have not only weakened naturally but are tampered with by a coven of witches who attempt to open the fissure from deep inside the Dark Elven lands.
In 2623 Jabrogath is destroyed. The Temple of Üvah and its command center for the Legion is completely destroyed. Over 35,000 knights lose their lives. With the loss of that many leaders and commanders of the Legion the following years saw the order splinter; led by Sir Artemis the Wrathful a large battalion of 800 knights assault a city of Orcs in Rûndan and they slaughter guilty and innocent alike. Sir Artemis defends his actions believing that all Orcs are inherently evil. This breaks the newly formed Treaty of Jabrogath. The Church of Üvah tries and finds over 200 knights guilty of failing to uphold their sixth tenet, their tenet against revenge. All 200 knights are executed; the final execution being that of Sir Artemis himself.
The order is given a chance to redeem itself when Rûndan is destroyed by an Orc Shaman who desecrates the land turning it into a poisonous swampland. The order saves thousands of lives by evacuating them and getting them safely out of Rûndan and into Nandaral.
