Jeslore

"The universe is infinite. And in an infinite space, go far enough and you'll find that anything is possible. In an infinite universe, every now and again one might come across a planet with magical properties. These planets are colloquially referred to as 'anomalies', and they are of great interest to the god like creatures roaming the universe, as they grant immense power to the ruler.   Very rarely though, do anomalies harbor a variety of life, so it would only make sense that for something so volatile, the object in this group that has the strongest magical properties is also an outlier. Jeslore's magical properties are unmatched, as it allows for more than just simple spell casting. The 'planet' is essentially 3 super continents floating over one another, encased in a large bubble of water." - Galactic Hitchiker's guide to Jeslore.

Narrative Description

Jeslore is the stage for all the tales that capture a deep fascination with the advancement of time and technology. It's detailed and fully fleshed out history reaches from the most basic primordial beginnings of the planet, when life was just getting its feet under it to the journey into the unknown, and beyond with thrilling adventures to be had at any given point in this history. It's also far larger than most planets, having areas completely unexplored and ripe for the imagineering of anyone willing, both on the planet itself and the vast space surrounding it. It is not just a single world with one or two bands of heroes setting out on an epic journey, It's an actually civilized world with its own history, both natural and intellectual, waiting to be discovered by players and characters alike.   Everything has been thought of and can be explained in the scope of science to some degree, and it strives to do so with as little plot devices as possible. Anything from the evolutionary origins of the animals roaming the planet to the complex political relations that nations have with one another and even the cultures and economies of civilizations have been fleshed out, it just has to be written down. But even still, there is so much more to Jeslore: as Jeslore and its history is shaped by one thing: Heroes. Brave characters that achieve exceptional things and thus shape the future of the realm and define the very culture of some civilizations. It's the actions of the characters that truly make Jeslore and its history into something special. They are the heroes of their own story, but while their story may be their entire life, their entire life is but a single piece of Jeslore's rich historical record. With a planet as ancient as Jeslore, every heroic saga becomes a chapter in a greater story that does not forget anyone.

Unique Geographic Properties

A planet as odd and weird as Jeslore is bound to have a lot of unique properties as a consequence of the watery shield surrounding it alone, but there is so much more to Jeslore's weirdness. Jeslore is not a planet, it is officially classified as a "realm" mostly due to the strange composition of it being a collection of floating mega continents moving around in tandem circling a large glowing monolith in the centre encased in a large body of water that acts as an auxiliary ozone layer (even though, it does have a standard ozone layer that encapsulates the water layer).

Exo-Aqualayer

The Exo-aqualayer is the name of the large bubble of water encapsulating Jeslore. It is extremely thick, which makes it extremely difficult to pass through without extremely specialized spacecraft or a specific set of deity like powers, and even when the ability to cross it is there, crossing it is still near impossible as the water curiously harbours life. In fact, to avoid complications, the people of Jeslore travel off the planet using teleporters instead of spacecraft. These teleporters connect to one of the many space stations in orbit, where they will find the opportunity to purchase or rent a spacecraft for their travel, or they can make use of the many teleporters that lead to other Jeslorian colonies. The Exo-aqualayer was only penetrated once by a Vohx pride convoy ship that had malfunctioning engines. Jeslore itself reached space by establishing contact with the Cykx, who reluctantly put them in contact with a rather large space faring construction company. This company would be paid to communicate over chats to build their first space station (named GrofTek1) in orbit with blueprints for a teleporter, which allowed the first dwarves to leave Jeslore for the firsttime in history. Once the dwarves had made themselves at home, Groftek1 served as a staging area for them to build more space stations, and eventually dry docks for the construction of larger spacecraft. From that point, the people of Jeslore were free to colonize other planets.

Serpents

There is life in the Exo-aqualayer, because spacecraft that can travel through water are far from a novel concept, and a penetration has been attempted in the past. Once the water is entered, however, the spacecraft don't usually make it very far, as they are inevitably found and killed by the many serpents roaming the water. In fact, the Cykx long assumed Jeslore was an uninhabitable planet as seastead colonies have been attempted before, but those were destroyed by the serpents and upon an attempt to eradicate them it was discovered that the serpents breed faster than they can be killed. To make matters worse, the serpents are immensely resilient and capable of shrugging off high explosive weapons and most sorts of poison. Former attempts to colonize Jeslore were all cancelled due to the cost.

Space Stations

Surprisingly, Jeslore has some of the strictest immigration policies in the universe, likely on account that the vanguard are considered parasites and the public does not want a repeat of the war on divinity. Additionally, Jeslore has a lot of natural beauty and because of unchecked capitalism ruining some of it in the past, no factories are allowed on Jeslore. The Jeslorian government has decided that while their own planet must be protected from pollution, companies are free to grind other planets to dust in the name of profit as long as there is no other intelligent life on there with them.
