The Inquisition
Public Agenda
The Inquisition is rumored to be the Empress' personal guard and enforcers. They are virtually legend to the subjects of the empire as well as the vast majority of the Imperial government. Since its reactivation by Empress Evanlyn Vita, the Inquisition has been seen defending the Empress and the empire at the Battle of Ackra and during the attack of the Apollyon. All other supposed sightings of the Inquisition are unsubstantiated and have been categorically denied by the Imperial authority.
History
The Inquisition is an order that dates back nearly to the founding of the empire and is rumored to have been established by Emperor Timitus Primus, son of Temora Primus. During one of Emperor Timitus' early forays north of the Spine, he came upon a feral tribe which had somehow bonded with griffons. The exact process that binds rider and griffon is a closely guarded secret of the already enigmatic organization, but it is said that rider and griffon are bound for life. Timitus went on to negotiate with the riders and Timitus directed his heroes and legions to destroy the terrible ancient red dragon, Brimstone
