The Great Scarring
Summary
During the The Ascendant War, Baltus of the Interventionist Gods struck a blow so mighty against the Non-Interventionist Gods that it slew thousands of mortals, two of the Ancient Gods, wounded Ito, the Old God of Creation, and tore a thousand mile long gash in the world. Water rushed into the wound like blood from a body and soon a new sea had been created on Jeharr, The Scar.
It is said that the bones of thousands of ancient warriors rest at the bottom of the Scar, alongside those of two ancient Gods whom they were created to die for. For thousands of years the Scar remained a place of reverence for the Pestilent Species who had lost the Ascendant War. Time erodes all and only legends remain. As years become decades, decades centuries, and centuries millenia, wounds close and heal over but scars remain to remind of what has come to pass, even after the pain has subsided.

The Great Scarring has been depicted in innumerable images over the thousands of years since it occurred. Most famously, Devlin Archammer carved a 500 by 1000 foot, exceptionally detailed petroglyph during The First Coming of the End Times of Baltus swinging a mighty hammer through Ito, Gods, Mortals, and Jeharr.
