Advaris Pavilion
Purpose / Function
The Followers of Vita construct temporary shelters, named "Advaris Pavilions" after their designer Dalwrath Advaris, in areas devastated by war, pestilence, or any other disaster that might leave a large number of people in need of medical assistance. The primary purpose of an Advaris Pavilion is to classify and organize injured individuals following mass casualty events. Injured individuals are then assigned to priests, alchemist, and physicians based upon need and urgency. The secondary purpose of an Advaris Pavilion is to gather information relating to the event in the event of magical disaster as well as conduct alchemical, magical, and medical research.
Architecture
The Advaris Pavilion has been designed to maximize the efficiency with which casualties can be processed while also maximizing the speed at which the Pavilion can be erected, and operations begun. The Pavilion itself is constructed of lightweight canvas and posts that can be quickly and easily unloaded from a Followers caravan and erected into a large main tent, referred to as "the Pavilion," as well as several smaller tents. The tents can be reinforced after initially being erected in case of inclement weather, but they are designed to facilitate the organization and movement of injured individuals and to do so as quickly as possible. A well coordinated effort by a prepared Followers caravan on solid ground in good conditions can go from traveling to 90% mostly operational in 15 minutes.
History
The Advaris Pavilion was originally based on the Ackramorian Imperial Army's medical organization during The Battle of Ackra. Dalwrath Advaris was present in the city throughout the entire siege and participated in the treatment of wounded. Dalwrath was shocked at how many soldiers and civilians died standing in lines awaiting treatment or because of the Vocumos Effect. Over the course of the siege, organization and prioritization of medical resources improved and inspired Dalwrath's new "Rapid Deployment Medical Logistics Facility," eventually nicknamed, "The Advaris Pavilion." The Followers have had the occasion to use the Advaris Pavilion a few times since the Battle of Ackra, particularly during the Trench Crisis, and each time the Pavilion undergoes minor revisions and upgrades, but Dalwrath's fundamental design hasn't changed significantly since its inception.
