Creation of Intelligence

Just like there are countless views on the Forces held by Itorah's intelligent life, so are there countless views on how said intelligent life came to be. The existence of both humans and dragons--very different beings with matched intelligence--has been cause for strife as long as the two species existed, sharing the same world.

Summary

Depending on where a particular creation myth originates, with what species and how they view the other, the nature of the myth may vary greatly. In areas where dragons and humans get along well, the creation myth may describe them as created by the same Gods, or by allied Gods, intended as a matched set. Making up for each other's weaknesses, to learn from each other, as companions, and countless other forms may make their shared creation to be a beneficial thing, meant to benefit them.   In lands where dragons and humans don't get along, however, stories of their creation take on a significantly different tone. The other species may have been created as a trial, may not be truly intelligent at all, may have been created as demons and opposition, may have been created to be ruled over, or even by a rival deity jealous of their own god.

Historical Basis

In truth, the creation of intelligent life by the Forces has gotten... Well, it only makes sense for intelligent life to put a lot of hoorah into it. And while it was the crowning achievement of the Forces' work, their final touch... It was a lot less ritualistic and dramatic than many imagine it to be.   All Forces who wanted to partook in a competition to decide what the intelligent species on Itorah would be. Every one of them designed their own, in appearance and abilities and nature. And every round, all Forces voted, deciding which one would ultimately inhabit their shared domain.   Only, things didn't quite work out as intended. When they reached the finale, only two options left... they reached a tie. Both dragons and humans proved to be equally popular among the Forces. Unable to decide on a tie-breaker, they decided to create both species, making them share Itorah. If one truly was superior, then the other would perish in favor of the winner. And if both continued to exist, sharing the planet meant for one? Well, then that was just as good.
