Ithica (Shattered Realms)

500 years ago a disaster struck the material plane. No one is sure what it was or who or caused it.Within a few days magic colour and life simply started to drain out from the world soon the skies turned black and fire started to rain down upon them. The few lucky denizens of the material plane became refugees fleeing through hastily prepared portals which had become highly unstable. Some refugees ended up in other planes others were hurled through time. Others ended up here Ithica. The refugees attempted to start again occasionally refugees still arrive, the portal they passed through seems like only a few seconds ago but much time has passed.   The destruction of the material plane or believed destruction those that have gone to look have never returned so it is uncertain. Ruins dot the island some say these originated from Faerun others say from other worlds has lead most to believe that the plane is truly gone.   The refugees from Faerun are not the only ones to arrive here though others claim to have arrived from a different place speaking of castle Greyhawk and Dragon Riders.   Much of the south is unexplored with the refugees consolidating what they had in the first half millennium here. The town furthest south Brindle is only this far south due to high quality farmland.   When the calamity happened several new gods appeared others simply vanished what ever happened to the material plane affected everything on a cosmic scale.
