From Memnon, A port town on the River Agis on the Northern shores of Calimshan.
Reeze has no idea about her real name, mother or father. Her earliest memories are of life in a tavern Brothel in the town, the owner, Artemis Seghir, kept her as an investment hoping she would be a "novelty" for the clients but Gensai are too proud and at 12, fed up with her, he sells her to pirates looking for a powder monkey on the "Kraken" With Captain Darton Yulis
Life with the pirates is dangerous and even more so for this lowest of the low job but being bright enough to realise she will not survive long below decks she spent her free time pestering the Bosun's Mates for any jobs on deck.
In her 15th year during a storm a man called Rida Abbas fell from the rigging and was saved by the young Gensai as she discovered her latent genetic ability to levitate and carry a heavy load. The topman took Reeze on as his appo and she quickly gained a reputation as being agile and quick in the rigging and worked her way up the ropes to join Rida at the top.
She also learned to use her agility and speed to run rings round her stronger companions in a fight and enemies quickly learned their error if they thought her an easy target. Fighting alongside her crewmates either with 2 scimitars she had "won" or firing arrows from the rigging with deadly precision.
Respected by the crew as a valuable hand she earned her freedom and when the ship arrived in the Northern ports of the Pirate Isles with the backing of Yasmin the Quartermaster and Rida she was allowed to leave the Kraken, and found her way to the port town of Murran where she joined the Shadow Thieves and took work as a Caravan Guard . The Shadow Thieves was a thieves' guild based in Athkatla, a large port city in Amn. They were formerly the most prominent thieves' guild in Waterdeep, but as she moved North she found out that the guild have since been all but routed from the city by the Lords of Waterdeep. It is alleged they had some arrangement with the Council of Six, as the merchants of Waterdeep are the main trading enemies of Amn.
In Waterdeep she picked up a strange mentor/protector called Artemis Bliss. With a new ally and sensing her fortunes would be better served elsewhere they quit the caravan at a convenient (for her) moment, stealing some useful items as they left. Artie and Reeze took off into the north and lay low in Neverwinter spending their time in seedy taverns just keeping an ear to the ground for any opportunities for a couple of hardy adventurers.
Talking to an old prospector called one eyed Moe, a gray haired rough looking fellow with both his eyes still intact (oddly), but with a wooden leg and missing several fingers on both hands.
He told a tale that he was working in a newly reformed town of Phandalin where there were rumors of an long lost mine which held treasures beyond imagining.
He was sure he was close to finding it before he had his accident and had to retire back to the city.
 
He was deep in his cups and they took what he was saying with a pinch of salt, but from the sounds of it this place "Phandalin" would be a good place to hide out and possibly make a quick buck.
 
Asking around with some of the shady contacts they made in town they hear of a Wealthy Bard who is looking for some protection for a visit to Phandalin, a man by the name of Huggin...
 
After the Phandilin expedition the cataclysm started to happen. She was able to escape to Ithica with Eryinn and Blaze.
