Deep in the Underdark: Session 1

General Summary

Rhy spent two and a half days Researching in the Great Library of Kemmera before meeting with the queen to discuss the expedition/quest she wanted Rhy to participate in. A ritual that had to be performed every 50 years was approaching and certain material were required to complete it. some of these material were deep in the Underdark in a old Duregaur temple. Those who normally collected the material were either dead or now part of the insurrectionists. As such the queen knew very little about the temple and needed capable and adaptable adventurers to retrieve the materials. The materials came from a carnivorous plant and the queen hoped a sapling could be collected allowing the plant to be grown in Kemmera removing the dangerous journey from from future rituals. To this end she hired/requested the aid of Sithala and Ammorna to access the plants and temple for any requirements or restrictions on growing the plant. The newly gathered party decided to rest before heading into the water ways the next morning. During the down time Rhy picked Ammorna's brain, academic to academic. Ammorna talked about Ul'Matar, King Ar’Thog, his enchanter, and ten rings she believed were made for the King of the Dragons.   It took a little less then a day to reach the temple. There the party discovered written in old Dwarvish a poem engraved about two Dwarves in love, one of which was much more invested. They also learnt the temples name, the Temple of Growth and Fertility. The party moved further into the temple descending a dark set of stairs. At the bottom of the stair they found a domed room with a dead and engraved silver wood tree lit by strange lights. The tree told the story of the Dwarf who went into the Fey Wild, slew a beast, and was rewarded with a strange "magic" bulb. During their watches several members of the party were met with a strange voice that some surmised was a fey or maybe even an Archfey. The next day, Sithala, through various questions, and her own lack of subtlety inadvertently revealed Leviticus as the Archfey who had communicated with them and that they told her to "stay on this side of the gate". The party proceeded to a chamber with a sun under waves carved above several door ways. most of the party wanted  to move on after quickly identifying the nearby rooms as some sort of lodgings. Rhy ignored the stay on task approach in favor of exploring the rooms and soon found another card from Yua's deck and immediately messaged Theren about the card and the rings. Having successfully found something of value Rhy rejoined the party an prepared to move further into the temple.   Date: 6th-11th of Sithala 1437
