Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 45
General Summary
The Realm Walkers rose in the morning each for the first time waking from sleep. The trio of Theren, Rhy, and Lee woke and had a check in about the previous days event, mainly the dying and the events with Yua. Meanwhile Ranrus worked on constructing his reliquary. Theren was encouraged to start reading the book they died for and the twins head out to find lava. Before leavign the caste lee stopped by Ranrus's romm to collect potion which he offered up his entire stash which Lee took three of.
The two travel for several hours, the lave was around a half days journey from Kemmera. They eventually found a small cavern with shack and a lava pool fed by a small lava fall and flowing into an unseen lava flow. Rhy set up her demi plane to capture lava, a hairless Bugbear in a rocking chair seemed to appear and offer to rent them a fishing rod which Lee took him up. after renting the rod for ten gold he offered to sell him bait for 300 gold. Lee did not tak him up on it, instead retruning to lava collection. The bug bear showed some confused interest in the twins strange behaviour but went to go back to his chair when the twin engaged him about fishing again asking him to show them how its done( not beleiving in the bait or even the existence of "rock fish". The Bug bear put the entire contents of a bait bucket on his hook and sat dow waiting for a bite. 15 mintues later he hooked something pulling for the pond a 6ft by 12 foot rocky toothy fish like monstrosity that he punched to death before starting to butcher. the site thouroguhly scared the two off from trying their hand at fishing. They did by a pound of meat normal 10gp (Rhy offered 15 gp). He was interested in the business potential use of the lava. the coversation devolved quickly. Before leaving they got his name, Fringgus.
The two made it about half way back, reaching the cliffside path that they had travel to kemmera to the first time, when they were suddenly attacked by an unseen assailant. The two began a mad dash back to the city as the assailant continued to bombarded them with eldritch blast attempting to pull them off the path into the darkness below. Eventually with some strategic use of wall of light to hide there escape they reached kemmera. despite some attempt to strategize and learn who their assailant was the only saw one humanoid silhoutee more then 500 feet away.
entering back into the city the twin let the guard know who reinforced the entrance. The twins returned to the castle and met with Ranrus and Theren. The party began to discuss the potential cause of this attempted assasinations. TRhy reached out to sasnian who assumed the attacker must be an assassin. Ranrus spoke to Onatar whol told him he sensed not hostility to Ranrus. The twins took a short rest to clean up before all the Realm Walkers left the castle with the hope of investigatign the assassin.
In the main hall of the castle they're were far more people then usual including many memeber of the Fey procession. Stepping outside the city was alight despite the Under Sun having "set" the city streets were lined with lights and booths as the Festival of Shadows celebrations take place at night. On their way throught the crowd The party noticed a moonfolk they'd seen int he Boettun Goblin Market. theren saw his worms and convinced lee to steal one. lee stolle one but while ivnvisible became very high as the worms body secreations were absorbed into his body. in the aftermath trying to get lee under control theren also got oozed. ranrus cleansed Lee and the party reuturned to their original plan to track assassins.
At the entrance they learnt a group of partiers had arivied but no one of note otherwise. a guard named Barton went with them at the request of the queen. barton was a bit off bieng easily confused by the Realm Walkers. they arrived at the spot where lees firebolt had hit. and found some ooze similar to that secreted by the worm. the party, after a sciscussion about ascednats worms, there value, and psychidelic effects, the party suspected the moonfolk and returned to the city.
Moving through the streets the party found the Moonfolk dnacing with two fem Drow and a masc Human. Theren determined the Moonfolk was covered in magical gear.
Rhy adjusted her garb and changed her appearance to match Chalaina. The Moonfolk called out sister as she approached and offered her his remaining worm. She touched it and became immiaditly under the influence. Rhy tried to keep her focus on the goal and engaged with the group but the influence of the worm of strong. lee followed behind invisible uynder his cloak. Ranrus and theren were wall flowering nearby, keeping Rhy in sight. LEe watching for rhy noticed a stragne reaction from the moonfolk when rhy mentioned an assimar. lee tried to get rhy to pull more but she only pulled out his love for nature and one of the drows attention as she started to make out Rhy( transformed into chalaina).
Lee snuck behind the moonfolk and whispered "tell them about your plan, they can help."
the moonfolk high as high could be, responded "is that you Rasephar?"
