Onatar Character in Ithica | World Anvil

Onatar

A minor god whose worship and pressence is most prominent on Eberron, where he gave birth (on that plane at least) to the Warforged to protect from the threat of war, but also to prove that he too could create life as a God of the Forge while living in the shadow of other creator gods like Moradin and Erathis.

Tenets of Faith

To create is better then to destroy, but if one must bring destruction to protect, may that destruction be brought by weapons made by your own hands, that you might understand the weight of the actions you will take.   The Forge- at the forge is where a worshipper of Onatar does their best prayer. With every ring of hammer on steel, with ever burst of light as you shower your anvil in sparks you pray to him. The forge is a gift, the art of creating is a gift, a gift you repay with each new creation that you make in his honour.   Crafting- the art of crafting is Onatar’s blessing to his followers. These skills are meant to be shared, taught to all those around who would seek to create and help their fellows. One should not stand in the way of another's craft and should seek to learn from each and every artisan, as each has there own experience and knowledge all in the name of creating.   Warforged- Warforged are his children and they call him father. They are not tools for his followers, but they are their to protect them, their creations, and all those who might one day create. Warforged are a free people and are of the same mind and soul as any other. To spurn them is to spurn yourself and is to cast off the love of Onatar. Metal to your skin, stone to your muscle wood to your bone, oils to your blood, a Warforged life lived to your life lived.
