Veldar

Veldar is a small farming settlement found south of Gurundale. It is rather rural, but produces a lot of food for the kingdom as a whole. Veldar appears as a series of cleared fields with attached homes. About 60-70% of its population are rural farmers who live outside of Veldar proper. The village center is surrounded by a wooden palisade and made up of about 20-30 homes, each of which is small but well made. The village doesn't have an inn because farmers rarely have time for that and its meager size makes it avoided by travelers heading south. The following are the people of interest in the town:
Meldor: The mayor of the village. An elderly dwarf who hails from Gurundale. He is rather out of touch with the town and as such unliked by most. He lives in a rather large manor in the center of town and can be quite the demanding fellow.
Tazla: The captain of the village militia and a retired veteran of the military. There are only about 25 of them, but she makes sure that they are as well prepared as they possibly can be for attacks of any kind. She is strict but kind, wanting to keep her people as safe as possible. She is seen as the defacto leader of the village.
