Vecna

Vecna, the whispered one, is the self proclaimed god of undeath and secrecy. As a mortal, he was a powerful arcanist who rose to power a short time before the beginning of the great scourge. Before Vedena's twisting of true magic, he delved deep into his study of the arcane arts, seeking to unearth their power and command it. Through horrifying experiments he squeezed every inch of power he could, channeling it into himself forsaking life itself for immortality. When the great scourge started, he was known as the vulture as he would drain power from the bodies of dead eternals, harnessing it for himself. These immense gains in power rose him to a level to challenge the gods themselves, and while he was no eternal, he proclaimed himself a god of the pantheon. Recruited by Asmodeus for his power as a weapon of war, Vecna serves as the spymaster of the betrayers. His ears go far and little comes to pass that it hidden from his ears. He was imprisoned at the end of the great scourge but was sprung free by Vedena during the unnearthing. While lacking a true following, his power led to a cult worshiping undeath and power above all else. His followers act as spies, and some hire them as informants. But among them, they all wish for power, to serve the whispered one and rise to his level using his example as guide. While lacking a true form, Vecna appears as a large lich with a red cloak and decaying skin. Suggested domains: death, arcana
