The Ritual Area
Ahead, there is a large runic spell circle, scribed into the stone using blood. It is flanked by ten statues of men, each bearing abberant qualities. Some have 3 eyes, others clawed limbs or tentacles. All have skin burned away to eery white. At the end of this chamber there is a stairway going downwards.
Spell Circle:
The spell circle is a fairly standard focus for casting spells that are more powerful than an entity can do on their own. 5 people here can attempt a ritual to cast a spell 2 levels higher than the highest spell slot of the leader of the circle.
Statues:
These statues depict previous prophets of the changing god. Anyone who succeeds a DC 19 religion check can tell that one of them, with 3 eyes, was a well known heretic of 150 years prior. He was executed in Elesland for heresy of the highest order. He had no name but was known as the Shifting one.
