The Beast of Oblivion

In the beginning there was nothing, and then Mualdir awoke from his slumber and created Ithesia and the planes. This moment created a distinction between being and nonbeing, and thus awoke something else as well. The equal and opposite of Mualdir, this creature was attacked by Mualdir immediately upon its birth. It fled for a while, but would later return to try and taste exitsence once more.
At its core, the Beast of Oblivion is a primordial god whose essence is true darkness. Not the absence of light, but the absence of everything. By its very nature, it would seek to devour everything that existed to return the universe to what it saw as its natural state. It is the reaper of the gods themselves, and nothing can match its power, save for Mualdir. In his efforts to uphold the timeline, Mualdir is also fighting off this beast and keeping it from destroying Ithesia.
The Beast of Oblivion has had very little actual impact on Ithesia or on any of the other planes, as Mualdir has kept it contained through a tree that he created with the creation of the world. This tree, dubbed the tree of witness, records the existence of every living soul that passes through Ithesia, thus archiving them against Oblivion, for anything that is remembered isn't truly gone. This tree was augmented by the Black Dreadnought created by Cadar, which also drew on a tiny bit of the Beasts power in order to create True Magic. The tree is limited in its reach though, as seen by when the Elder Dragons strayed from the planes in search of an end to the worlds. This left them open to the hunger of the Beast of Oblivion, which would then devour them whole.
A fragment of the Beast of Oblivion lies within the name eater, which is what gives it the power to consume names and entire identities like that. This is because that fragment was filtered through the tree of witness which thus limited the power that could be granted.
