Steel Hearth

Steel Hearth is a somewhat small town located near the entrance to Arcanist's cove. It came to be as both a trading center and a mining town. The mountains around the cove are very rich in iron, and there are several small villages within these mountains that all sell their ore to Steel Hearth. As such it is a refining town. It is far bigger than Eldyrn, with a population of about 2000 people. It has stone walls and a small standing military of about 20 guards. It is under the protection of the Ancient Empire as it was originally established as their colony but since the empire has shrunk to such a small size it rarely sees any visitors from there and doesn't even pay taxes anymore. It is a primarily lizardfolk city but also has Drugrar, Tabaxi, and even Yuan-Ti. 
The people here are hardy and resilient, if a bit isolated from the rest of the world. When the leylines fired, it was able to escape relatively unharmed. Despite this, it became the target of the Kerosh, Demon of the Lines. He felt the presence of a rather powerful ritual here and followed it. While the mage had already left, his rage did not spare the people of this town. He killed most of them in a rage and those that survived fled deep into the wilderness where they are being hunted by a band of Kuo Toa that are worshipping this creature who came from the lines.
