Lolth

Lolth, demon goddess of spiders, is one of the more reviled deities in Ithesia despite not technically being an eternal. Lolth was initially simply the spider queen, a creation of Cerathor to inspire terror in the world. She was nothing more than another monster, albeit an extremely powerful one. With her ever creeping horde at her back, she infested many forests within the early days of the world. This brought her to a natural clash with the elves, who loved the forests in their wild state and hated the corruption brought by Lolth and her skittering horde of enormous spiders. Lolth was driven back by the elves, aided as they were by the magic gifted to them by the meddling gods Isaldir and Cadar. For many thousands of years, she was driven into the darkness, away from all the prey of the world. When Asmodeus rebelled against the status quo of the eternals, she hastened to his side, if only to take revenge on Thahmir and his wretched elven spawn. To show her usefulness to Asmodeus, Lolth ensnared a group of elves, coming to them in a form similar to their own and charming them with magic and mundane charms in order to bring them over to the side of the betrayers. After the great scourge, these elves were later driven underground by their kin and became known as drow. For a time they worshipped her, but as time went by, more and more of them turned away from her as they regretted their split with their surface kin. Full of anger, Lolth swore that if she ever got out of the lower planes where she had been trapped along with the rest of the betrayers forces, she would bring the drow back to her and force them to kneel upon the blood of a thousand of their kin. Lolth was one of the fiends who split off from the nine hells with Yeenogothu, going to live in the pits of chaos that are the abyss. She did this because she realized there would never be a place for her or her kin in the perfect world Asmodeus wanted to create. Now free from the divine shield, Lolth seeks an escape from the abyss and greater power, so she enlists the help of some of the few drow still loyal to her. Lolth is manipulative and power hungry, always looking for a way to get into a better position herself. Her time in the hells and the abyss have forged her into a creature of complete chaos, wanting to spread blood and death across the planes as it would build a better realm for her and her kin. Despite not being an eternal, Lolth is powerful enough to create clerics as a god would. As she is not an eternal, she has no true form but takes the form of a beautiful drow woman, a gargantuan spider, or a fusion of the two, sort of a gargantuan version of a drider.
