Halflings

Halflings are small, stout humanoids with jolly personality's and a knack for fun and trickery. They are oft omitted from history and few hear much of great halfling heroes or kings. Halflings rarely seek to rule kingdoms or win mighty battles. More commonly, the extent of their ambitions is to open a tavern or perhaps steal an artifact. Halflings are great thieves and sometimes resort to such a trade when their other dreams don't work out. There are no halfling settlements, or kingdoms, they instead choose to live in the villages of men. Halflings are common sights in human settlements and for this reason some people think that they are actually a distant cousin to humans, which is not entirely without merit. Halflings are naturally brave and can be quite fierce in a pinch. They are especially known for their skill in throwing things. Be it rocks or daggers. They are also especially nimble and dexterous making them good thieves. There are two main types of halflings that live in Ithesia. Lightfoot halflings are friendly and common in cities. They are the halflings found in the Brenaurus empire and among the other kingdoms of men. Stout halflings are more resilient and found in the more extreme lands of Gimgurun among the dwarves or south in Zeadoran wastes. They are hardy and enduring, used to hardship and confident in their ability to overcome it. It is a running joke among scholars that they have no idea how halflings came to being or which God patrons them. There have been theory's that they were created by Beara or Roion but the halflings themselves do not care and laugh at attempts to figure out their past.
