Gurundale
The largest city in the southern portion of the Ceres Woods. It is a hub of agriculture and military defense. It is the third largest city in the Kingdom. Visually, it is a large city surrounded by a twenty foot wall of stone. Beyond the walls are countless agricultural fields, with trees interspaced within the fields so as to preserve the integrity of the forest. It is the most rural and least metropolitan of the three main Drugrari cities. It has wide paved streets of cobbles with large houses of wood and stone. For the people of this city, it is of extreme importance that it maintain its appearance. There is no garbage in the streets nor run down buildings, for those who hold wealth are more than willing to pitch in to maintain the pure appearance of their city. It is also the most egalitarian city in the kingdom, with a general feeling of community within its walls. Its main industry is that of transit and trade, it collects the crops from surrounding farms and villages then refines and sells them beyond the walls of the city. The people here also keep lots of animals, from Gilnodur and beyond. As such it is built to accommodate dinosaurs and other beasts of burden.
Defences
Gurundale has high walls, ballistae and a garrison of some 500 warriors and archers as well as another 200 scouts.
Districts
While it doesn't have districts in the sense that some cities do, it has some broad regions within it. To the south of the city is the Menagerie, which encompasses about a third of the city. It is the portion of city which houses most of its markets for food and livestock. It contains lots of residential areas as well but is mainly defined for how it is built to accommodate big animals in wide streets and plenty of green areas. More to the northwest there's the Northgate Markets, which is a far more commercialized area. Here is where most of the craftsmen, magicians and smiths of the city live and work. Eastwards is the Walled Garden, a somewhat more high status district in which many trees are planted so that the inhabitants feel like they have a more suburban/rural environment than a city. In the center of the city there's Castletop Plaza, which is a large area dedicated entirely to the administration of the affairs of the city and its relationship to the kingdom.
Points of interest
The center of the city has the Theldun Citadel, which is the center of administration as well as the last line of defense should there be an attack.
The Drugrar Matera is a cathedral located within the Walled Gardens, and it is the largest temple to Tasnira in Jezat. It is a cathedral dedicated both to her but also to the forest in which she has granted the Drugrari Sanctuary. It has dozens of sculptures of animals as well as Tasnira herself. The Cathedral itself is very green, constructed entirely of wood with many courtyards and streams full of grass and other greenery.
The Ranchers Cauldron is a tavern located within the south of the city. It caters to farmers, woodsmen and ranchers, with plentiful stabling and a more raucous atmosphere then you will find anywhere else.
The Drunken Wolf is a tavern located due west within the city, between districts. It is a bit of a shithole, known for having lots of fights, but is also cheaper than other alternatives. It is favored by more unsavory individuals within the city.
The Mighty Green is the nicest tavern in the city, located within the Walled Garden. It is somewhat higher quality, with guards, high quality wine and rather luxurious rooms.
