Atrius, King of Nightmares
During the sundering of the world, the life of a mortal was one of unending fear. This was mainly due to the design of Cerathor, who sought to bathe the whole of Ithesia in blood as a sacrament to his power and might. But these machinations had other effects as well, as the elevated levels of fear converged to create something else. Thus was he born, Atrius, lord of nightmares and youngest of the eternals. He was spawned within the minds of mortals using the power of Cerathor which sought to keep them in perpetual fear. As such, Atrius was formed of the power and intent of Cerathor, making him of the species eternal. He is yet young, being far from the true power that a being of his lineage may achieve, but he grows in power with every nightmare among the world of men. And in these times, such things are a common sight. Where it took the original eternals millenia to develop their abilities, he has risen in only centuries. He serves now in the Unseelie Court, as he was safeguarded by The Queen from the hunt of the Arcadians. He feasts on blood and nightmares, his form shifting to display the worst fears of those he faces. While in avatar state, he is emotionless and cold, projecting an image of absolute terror.
His true form is an ever shifting huge form, with a central body of black mass that occasionally sheens with silver. He has an immense maw filled with teeth and two piercing white eyes. Dozens of black tentacles extend off of his form, allowing him full movement in all directions. More commonly, he manifests as a somewhat short, pale skinned eladrin with curled black hair and an emotionless stare.

Personal history
When Cerathor was unleashed upon the world, his utmost goal was to foster fear amongst mortals, as that gave him strength. As such, he warped reality itself to prey upon their dreams, bringing dreadful nightmares to all. Whether by design or not, that warp in reality grew, absorbing some of the power that was sent to Cerathor. After a while, it developed a consciousness and from then on, a new eternal had entered the world. At the beginning, he acted on pure instinct, continuing his torment of mortals as they slept. But gradually, he grew. More complex and more intelligent. Intelligent enough to anticipate the move that would be made against him. For the alliance had one chance to fell him before he developed into a fully fledged eternal fighting on the side of the Betrayers. Driven by instinct, he fled to the feywild which was once the birthplace of all his kind and the nursery in which they grew. But he was hunted here too, by the Arcadians who saw him only as a monster that would wreak havoc on their kind. So he fled again, ending up in the shadows of the feydark where even the White Riders would not venture. He hunted there for a while, growing more intelligent, more powerful, more hateful. it was there that she found him.
Atrius was taken in by the Queen of Air and Darkness as a surrogate son of sorts. He became both prince and pet in her court, raised on feasts of mortal souls and pure magic. She would teach him everything, about the courts of Arcadia, the wars of the gods and how humanity were a prey to him. During this time, he would often venture into the material plane, causing enormous havoc wherever he went. He would gradually be granted more responsibility by the Queen of Air and Darkness who would give him command over some of the monsters of the court. Despite this, his first real responsibility is to stabilize the essence of Kerosh and he is determined to succeed here.
