Esme Forte
Brief
Esme is eldest sister of a Fae father and mother and has two other sisters. She has left home to pursue a career in the medical field due to her strange gift she's had since birth: Transfer Healing. Studying in the human medical industry has proved difficult, as all fae have Iron Sensitivity. Her perseverance, her dedication to the medical field, and her popularity in the magical and medical educational community caused her to catch the attention of Casina Grace, and she now works for Penumbra. Esme is very much a family oriented person, and easily falls into the 'mother hen' role among peers and younger people. She has a soft spoken demeanor, and does her best to take care of others. However, it is crucial to avoid angering her; she is a fae after all, and a fae scorned is an enemy for life... Or until a debt is settled.The Discovery of a Talent

Poine Thalast: Hello, and welcome back to our podcast, The Seven Points. I'm Poine Thalast, and today's topic is the combination of magic and the medical fields. With me today, I have Esme Forte, a fae with a special gift. Care to introduce yourself to the audience?
Esme Forte: [Her tone is hesitant, voice soft] Hello. I mean, you've already introduced me already...But hello, I'm happy to be here.
Poine Thalast: Well thank you for being willing to sit down with me. [There's a slight rustling as Poine clasps their hands]. I'll get right to the point! You're one of the very few people in Isidoro who is capable of the ability Transfer Healing. Why don't you tell us a little bit of what that's like?
Esme Forte: Oh, uhm. Well. It's not too different. I have to be careful when I'm interacting with others in the hospital, if I'm not focusing it's really easy for me to tap them or give them a reassuring touch and then I'm stuck with a broken nose and a black eye. [she laughs, nervously].
Poine Thalast: [laughs along] Did you do that often? Heal people without meaning to?
Esme Forte: Did I ever...[There's a pause as she takes a sip of something] I had plenty of accidental healings at first before my family rushed me off to get training. I suppose my mother was tired of me coming home with bruises and other injuries...It wasn't fun either, I didn't enjoy it!
Life in the Limelight
As Esme grew up and into her magical skill, attention began to focus in on her. Her family was pushed into the publicity, and while the attention did some good to their name, Esme's family pulled away from the attention as much as possible. Esme went through many examinations as a young teen and adult, and even now is still contacted to take part in tests and interviews for various medical journals and public magazines. As a result of this Esme is often used to interacting with large crowds, and is used to finding ways to slip away if she begins to get overwhelmed. She isn't afraid to use her fae charms to charm and disorient people to get to a calmer space.Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Esme is a well endowed, plump individual and though many expect Fae to be lean and wry, Esme is the opposite. She has a faint rosy glow to her, and looks incredibly healthy; as long as she hasn't over-healed lately.
Risks of Altruism
With Esme often using Transfer Healing, her body is often covered in wounds that are in varying degrees of healing. Small scrapes, bruising and superficial injuries are common to see; some she covers with make up, and others she pays no mind. However, she carries scars from her younger years, these ones more harsh looking and brutal from taking on injuries she shouldn't have handled on her own. Education
Esme's main focus in her career is magical healing, along with general nursing. She is used to working in emergency situations and helps stabilize patients in the ER. While she is very in tune with her emotions and is considered emotionally intelligent, she often comes across as cold as she has to shut that part of herself off to deal with the many patients she used to see on a day to day basis.
Education Breakdown
- 3-years of medical field study; A bachelor's degree in nursing.
- 1-year emergency medicine enhanced skills program following a 2-year family medicine residency leading to the designation of ICFP(EM) through the College of Family Physicians of Isidoro (Advanced Competency Certification).
