Dalangt

The Vogs are a people unique on Isesda. Their culture seems monolithic, uniform across Vogs regardless of where in creation they are found. And they are found in places one would never expect. It would seem that Vogs have spread as far as Humans have, and with far fewer apparent numbers and no notable change. It is then perhaps unexpected that Vogs are so completely adept at politics no matter what culture they find themselves acting within. One secret to Vog success in the political arena as their ability to place informers and agents in key positions or locations who pass their reports to their goblinkin masters unnoticed. While secrecy and obfuscation are essential in this task, these machnations cannot always guarantee that information will remain out of unintended hands at all times. To combat this, Vog agents are taught Dalangt. This appears to be just a dialect of common gobbo, but in truth it is more devious. If translated under the gobbo dialect assumption, the messages always seem benign in nature. Their true content is revealed only to the Vogs and their trusted agents. This is done by two key methods. Firstly, a key is created to alter words to have different meanings than their true intent. This key is partially a standard among the Vog and partially unique to the message in question. The unique aspect of the key is actually inscribed within the message itself by way of the second method, multiple inks. Taking advantage of the Vogs natural ultraviolet visual capacity a second ink is inscribed in places within the document which is only visible to Vogs and those individuals the Vogs have modified to be able to see as they do. Since this is done without hint of magic it is thought impossible to decrypt for non-Vogs. Of course, the Vogs take no chances with their secrets. Agents who reach the level of trust necessary to even learn of Dalangt's existence know well the tortures that await betrayers and, rightly to their minds, have always chosen the rewards of service over the alternative.
