In a quiet Silver Elf city, changes are that much louder, echoing through the caverns until all know what has transpired, but few will ever speak of it. The same could be said when Matron Xune Baenre rose to lead her house, a child by Silver Elf standards. Overnight, the conniving woman had forced her house into a place of power, rising to a place on the Ruling Council of Eryndlyn with nothing more than small ripples to the calm of the city.
With her rise to power, Xune needed a family just as powerful. This came through her children, powerful priestesses, casters, and swordsmen. Her children would be the necessary parts to keep her power, within the council and the city. Through them, House Baenre would become a name to honor and fear, and for centuries, it was just that.
Even those of power face the embrace of death, and Xune Baenre was no different. Her death became known as part of the Matron Murders, a scandal that threw the once quiet city of Eryndlyn into an uproar. House Baenre found itself under a new Matron, one just as powerful and conniving as Xune, but much more ruthless in her quest for power.
