Illuminated by the light of a single candle, an older Silver Elf sits bowed over a table, scratching spells into a well-worn spellbook. He finishes the last stroke, staring down at a page splattered with ink and blood, whose he can no longer be sure. This is the last page of this centuries old book, tomorrow he will need to begin anew, dirtying a pristine book with his brash handwriting to escape the reality of what is outside the library door.
K’yorl Baenre is the youngest son of Matron Xune Baenre. As his mother was replaced by one of his sisters as Matron, his use to the house slowly deteriorates. But this does not stop him from pouring over books in the library, lining his spellbook with whatever magic he can find. The tomes of his tenure as house Wizard are what have saved him in the centuries since Matron Zilvra's ascent, and they will continue to serve their purpose as long as his hands can still cross the page.
For over three centuries has he served as the house Wizard, refusing to fall into line like his brother and become nothing but a mindless pawn with a sword. While he has no intentions of attempting to overthrow his sister, his mind often spirals to how, while the house has gained power, those that serve the Matron have become nothing more than slaves under Zilvra. These thoughts can never be spoken out, for challenging her is nothing more than death.
