Allegiance to multiple houses is uncommon in Silver Elf society, but the Matrons of two houses call for his attention. One is his wife, the Matron of House T'sarran. The other is his elder sister, the Matron of House Baenre. Both call for allegiance, both call for submission. A misstep that would bring shame upon one, would easily bring shame upon the other.
The former weapons master of House Baenre, Zyn Baenre now serves as the weapons master of House T'sarran. After the events of the Matron Murders, Matron Lythrana T'sarran accepted the trade of weapons masters from House Baenre, bringing the first son of former Matron Xune Baenre into the fold. Here, he would serve as weapons master and become the father of the next generation of House T'sarran.
Men who join a new house usually take the name of their new allegiance, but Zyn did not follow that custom. Even centuries away from his former home have not taken his name from him as he serves under the name of Baenre. Zilvra and Lythrana both ask for his allegiance, intertwining the fate of the two houses through this one man and history alone.
