PDRMN Awards

Awards in the PDRMN, like those in Earth militaries, are primarily displayed through small sections of ribbon on the breast of the dress uniform. Nearly all these ribbons have associated medals, but some, generally those that are awarded to nearly all PDRMN members, do not.
Some medals give additions to salary when awarded. These are cumalative.
All years listed are Martian Years.
The more common awards (no medal):
  • PDRMN Training ribbon: Awarded for completion of basic and specialized training
  • PDRMN Espatier Corps Training ribbon: As above, but for Espatiers
  • PDRMN Service ribbons: Awarded for each tour of duty in a fleet (repeat service adds a rusty red circle to the ribbon). Each medal adds $1000 per year:
    • PDRMN Home Fleet: A Rusty red center, surrounded by 3 lines on either side, Phobos grey, steel grey, Deimos grey.
    • PDRMN Asteroid Fleet: A black background, with a central yellow line, with a series of grey lines on the outside.
    • PDRMN Opposition Fleet: A central yellow block, with a small red line on either side. Black background.
    • PDRMN Logistics Fleet: A central core of blue, surrounded by lines going in to out: green, purple, black, grey, and red.
    • PDRMN External Fleet: A vantablack background, with a single, tiny, yellow-white dot in the center. To the foreground, on one side, a slightly less black patch can be seen. If one looks incredibly closely at the ribbon, you can see a minuscule red dot, 2 mm from the star. This medal gives $1500 per year instead of $1000.
    • PDRMN Trade Fleet: A central core of gold, surrounded by lines going in to out: silver, blue, green, grey, and red
  • PDRMN Extended Service ribbon: Awarded for 2 years of service above mandatory 2 years. After each additional 2 years, a small rusty red circle is added to it. Each medal adds $500 per year.
  • PDRMN Armed Conflict ribbon: Awarded to all crews who actually take part in a conflict. A little more rare due to the scarcity of combat
Less Common Awards (medals):
  • PDRMN Humanitarian Service Medal: For participation in humanitarian efforts (RRF)
  • PDRMN Good Conduct Medal: Awarded for exemplary conduct in the face of danger
  • PDRMN Commendation Medal: For receiving a commendation
  • PDRMN Exemplary Unit Medal: Awarded to all personnel in a unit for exemplary conduct in the face of danger
  • Every Fleet has a special medal for 5 tours served. It replaces the ribbon
Rarer Awards:
  • PDRMN Long Term Service Medal: Replaces Extended Service after 4 red circles, i.e. after 12 years of service. Gives $4000 per year, replaces extended service ribbon and awards.
  • PDRMN In the Service of Mars Medal: Given to personnel injured in a battle situation. Gives $1000 per year for life.
  • PDRMN In the Service of their Peers Medal: Given for personal exceptional action taken in protecting fellow personnel. Gives $2000 per year for life.
  • PDRMN In the Defense of Mars Medal: Given for personal exceptional action taken in the defense of the PDRM. Gives $2000 per year for life.
  • PDRMN In the Service of the People Medal: Given rarely and often posthumously for a great sacrifice taken in the defense of Mars or her peoples. Gives $5000 per year for life.
