PDRM Dollar Chit
The medium of exchange in the Martian sphere is an almost entirely a virtual currency, though it is possible to convert it into plastic chits or even polymer bank notes. These chits can made to contain the necessary amounts, though there are standard sizes and colours for the 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5, and 10 dollar chits. They have their value printed on them in relief, in white with black borders. In addition, contacts will automatically display their value superimposed over them.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
There is a small RFID inside the chit that stores a private key, and will decrypt messages sent to it by the public key. This key is associated with a bank account with no holder and the chit's value, and when the chit is deposited the money transfers into the new account.
Significance
The chits are used frequently in less than legitimate operations, and so having them is seen as a marker of skirting the law.
